ISLAA 142 Franklin St Tribeca
Join us to celebrate the publication of a book on Artes Visuales with essays and interviews by Hunter MAs and MFAs Andee Berberich, Zachary Ginsberg, Reuben Gordon, Coty Heinz, Lisa Mason, Amye McCarther, Nina Piper, Michelle Rakowsky, and Grace Sanabria. We will celebrate with remarks about Carla Stellweg by Anna Indych-López, a longtime friend of Carla’s and a professor of Art History at the Graduate Center and The City College of New York (CUNY).
The book was developed in the context of an exhibition presented from October to December 2025 at the Hunter College Art Galleries and supported by ISLAA. The exhibition gathered artists featured in the influential magazine Artes Visuales, highlighting a transnational community of experimental practice. Curated by Harper Montgomery with Hunter College MA and MFA students, it foregrounded the role of the publication in shaping artistic networks across the Americas.
