Save the date for PLAN 33 Launch Party, a new music initiative by ISLAA in collaboration with Hueso Records and artist Iván Navarro. Taking place on Friday, May 1 from 6pm to 8pm, the evening will mark the first releases of a series that brings together sound, visual art, and archival research. Through PLAN 33, ISLAA expands its mission of studying and exhibiting modern and contemporary Latin American art into the field of experimental music, activating research into Latin American bands as a space for new production and listening.

The first releases in the series are CLEOPATRAS and MARÍA SONORA. The CLEOPATRAS edition revisits recordings made between 1987 and 1991 in Chile’s underground scene, including rare demos and previously unreleased material, expanded with a new track recorded with Entrópica and presented in a limited edition with artwork by Liliana Porter. MARÍA SONORA presents the long-unreleased debut album by María José and Sebastián “Tan” Levine, recorded between 1989 and 1990 and later mixed in Tokyo, a hybrid and prescient work blending funk, hip-hop, cumbia, and electronic experimentation that has become a cult reference in Latin American music history. This new limited-edition edition of the record features cover artwork by Brazilian artist Nelson Leirner.

Together, these releases highlight ISLAA’s central role in reactivating and reframing overlooked sonic histories, positioning music not only as cultural production but also as a site of resistance, experimentation, and transnational exchange. Each record in PLAN 33 is conceived in collaboration with Hueso Records and paired with a visual artist, underscoring ISLAA’s commitment to interdisciplinary dialogue between sound, image, and historical research.

Join us on Friday, May 1 from 6pm to 8pm for an evening marking first releases, with live sound, listening session, and artist presence.

Limited capacity. First release. One night only.
